Heart rate variability (HRV) is a non-invasive method to evaluate heart rate (HR) regulation of the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system (Kingsley & Figueroa 2016).
Simply put, HRV refers to the beat-to-beat variance in the R-R interval.
